Mac OS X Sound Balance

Posted by Ferndave March 19th, 2007

Sometimes the sound balance on my iBook gets out of whack. I found a great program that automatically checks and makes sure that it is balanced.

balanced is a program by Stéphane Thiell.

Install it and it runs as a daemon.

Uninstall it in the terminal with:
sudo /Library/StartupItems/balanced/uninstall.sh

Zoom Quilt

This is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. SFW and trippy. It’s a picture that keeps zooming in to the center. It seems to never end.

Bays Engligh Muffins

I opened my front door to find a delivery.
Bays Box

Enclosed I found these:

Bays Engligh Muffins

A few weeks back, I wrote Bay’s English Muffins an email stating how much I enjoyed their product and why I thought they were better than Thomas’ English Muffins. A few days later, I received an email stating they were pleased that I enjoy their product and that they would like to send me some free muffins.

We would like to send you complimentary Bays English Muffins under separate cover in appreciation for taking the time to inform us of your concern. Please provide a mailing address – no post office boxes please, as UPS will not deliver to them. It may be a few weeks before you receive them, as the muffins are shipped via UPS directly from our plant.

Two dozen muffins right from the plant. They were the freshest I’ve ever had. All for one email.

USA Today

USA Today recently redesigned their site. Much like the Detroit Free Press, it sucks. Bad.

It’s slow. It looks like crap. But we get avatars!!! Whoopdie do.

Well, here is my avatar.

USA Today's design sucks

We’ll see if they let it stay.
